It only takes four ingredients to create a creamy, warm syrup. Sugar, water, butter, and extract. Using brown sugar will add a richer flavor and make a thicker syrup.

Four Ingredients

  1. 2 cups brown sugar
  2. 1 cup water
  3. 1/2 cup butter
  4. 1/4 teaspoon vanilla or maple extract

Four Cooking Steps

  1. Place the brown sugar and water over medium-high heat, and bring the mixture to a boil while stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 4 minutes.
  3. Add the butter and stir in until melted.
  4. Turn off the heat, add the vanilla or maple extract, and stir.
