Pickles

In the United States and Canada, pickled cucumber is considered a pickle. In Britain, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand, pickled cucumbers are called gherkins.

Gherkins are a smaller type of cucumber that are pickled, and most gherkins get pickled in brine with herbs and or spices.
